After leaving SNL in 1994 Schneider went to roles in film and television including a starring role in the NBC sitcom “Men Behaving Badly,” and starring roles in the feature films DEUCE BIGALOW: MALE GIGOLO, THE ANIMAL, THE HOT CHICK, DEUCE BIGALOW: EUROPEAN GIGALOW and THE BENCHWARMERS. Schneider’s directorial debut was the comedy BIG STAN, in which he also starred in the title role. In 2010 he released his first comedy album, “Registered Offender,” a collection of audio sketches and songs.

That year Schneider also revived his stand-up career with an international tour and has continued to tour nationally and internationally ever since.

An Evening with Keller Williams on Nov 4 to Celebrate 20th Anniversary of Album “Laugh” at the Sherman Theater

An Evening with Keller Williams Celebrates the 20th Anniversary of his album “Laugh” at the Sherman Theater.

Keller Williams will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of his album “Laugh” at the Sherman Theater on November 4.

This Evening with Keller Williams will include original musicians from the album, Tye North (Leftover Salmon) and Dave Watts (The Motet.).

Williams said:

“We will play “Laugh” in it’s entirety and attempt to create the studio magic live…yet enhanced.
Please enjoy responsibly.”

Virginian Keller Williams, released his first album in 1994, FREEK, and has since given each of his albums a single syllable title: BUZZ, SPUN, BREATHE, LOOP, LAUGH, HOME, DANCE, STAGE, GRASS, DREAM, TWELVE, LIVE, ODD, THIEF, KIDS, BASS, PICK, FUNK, VAPE, SYNC, RAW, SANS, ADD, SPEED and CELL.

Each title serves as a concise summation of the concept guiding each project. Keller’s albums reflect his pursuit to create music that sounds like nothing else. Un-beholden to conventionalism, he seamlessly crosses genre boundaries. The end product is music that encompasses rock, jazz, funk and bluegrass, and always keeps the audience on their feet.

Keller built his reputation initially on his engaging live performances, no two of which are ever alike. For most of his career he has performed solo.

His stage shows are rooted around Keller singing his compositions and choice cover songs, while accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, bass, guitar synthesizer and drum samples; a technique called live phrase sampling or “looping”.

The end result often leans toward a hybrid of alternative folk and groovy electronica, a genre Keller jokingly calls “acoustic dance music” or ADM.” Keller’s constant evolution has led to numerous band projects as well; Keller & The Keels, Grateful Grass, KWahtro, Keller and the Travelin’ McCourys, Grateful Gospel and More Than A Little to name a few. Keller can be found playing clubs and festivals around the U.S. with these projects throughout the year.

Comedy Star John Mulaney: From Scratch at Wind Creek on July 30

Comedy Star John Mulaney: From Scratch at Wind Creek on July 30

Fans of the comedian are familiar with Mulaney’s past issues with drugs and alcohol. In 2014, Mulaney revealed he had been sober since September 2005.

Many of his past comedy specials have centered around the contradiction between Mulaney’s clean-cut professional appearance and his turbulent relationship with narcotics.

In 2020, Mulaney relapsed, developing an unhealthy relationship with substances including xanax, percocet, klonopin and cocaine, among other drugs, he said during the show. As a result of his addiction, his friends staged an intervention with him in December of 2020.

Mulaney was two hours late to the intervention, which he was told would be dinner at a friend’s house, because he had stopped at his drug dealer’s apartment after getting a haircut at Saturday Night Live. In a hilarious retelling of the story, Mulaney recounted how he walked into the “Emmy-Award winning” hair department high on cocaine, demanding a haircut despite not being the host of the show for the week.

The intervention, which was attended by 12 of Mulaney’s comedian friends, was a star-studded affair, including the likes of Seth Meyers, Bill Hader, Natasha Lyonne, Fred Armisen and Nick Kroll.
