Slatington Kicks Off the Holiday Season with Annual Tree Lighting December 1 in Greater Northern Lehigh

The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber, proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, is gearing up for a memorable 2023 holiday season!

The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber, proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, is gearing up for a memorable 2023 holiday season with their annual tree lighting ceremony in Slatington, PA.

The event will take place on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 PM and is free and open to the public.

Prior to the event from 4:00-5:00 PM, attendees are encouraged to stop by the Slatington Library for stories with Mrs. Claus, before heading down to the festivities at Veterans Memorial Park (509 Main Street, Slatington), which kick off from 5-7 PM.

The event will feature festive holiday performances from Slatington Elementary School and Rhythm and Sole Dance Studio, as well as complimentary hot chocolate and popcorn for participants. Crafters, artisans and local businesses will host a vendor market to provide an opportunity for holiday shopping.

Buddy the Elf will make an appearance, as well as Santa Claus himself (arriving at 6:30 PM to light the tree).

Opportunities to take pictures with Santa will be available for those in attendance once the tree is lit.

In addition to the Tree Lighting festivities, the event will also host a food drive that will benefit the Northern Lehigh Food Bank.

“The holidays remind us that the spirit of giving is alive and well, and the Chamber likes to ensure that we are helping others in the community,” said Kylie Adams-Weiss, Assistant Vice President of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce and liaison to the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce. “We’re hoping that by giving back to those in need, we can keep the holiday spirit thriving in Northern Lehigh.”

With inclement weather on the forecast for Friday, the Chamber will be watching weather closely to determine whether or not the event will be held or live-streamed on the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber’s Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/NorthernLehighChamber). An announcement will be made by the Chamber on Thursday should weather force a change in plans.

The Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce, proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber, is pleased to bring back Catasauqua’s EATS Fest for its third year on Saturday, April 15th from 11-3 PM.

 

Partnering with the Borough of Catasauqua, this event is designed to kick off the spring season with delicious eats from local food trucks, while providing a festive atmosphere with live music from DMC Duo (11 AM-1 PM) and Chasing Daylight (1:30-3 PM), plus dozens of craft and business vendors. The EATS festival will has a strong emphasis on good eats, bringing lots of great cuisines to Catasauqua for the community to enjoy.

the Whitehall Area Chamber is excited to continue to

kick off the spring festival season in 2023 with Catty EATS!

Each year, this festival has grown – people are ready for spring, ready to be outside in a fun atmosphere and excited to try great food the Lehigh Valley’s food truck scene has to offer,” said Kylie Adams-Weiss, Assistant Vice President of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.

“We’re happy to have been working full steam ahead with the Borough of Catasauqua to support our local businesses and to entice the community to come out for a fun afternoon in 2023!”  

Festivities will begin at 11 AM in Catasauqua Park, a first for the festival which has historically been held on Front Street.

The festival will feature 14 food trucks and vendors, 40+ crafters, small businesses and nonprofit vendors. Live music in the park’s bandshell will feature DMC Duo (11 AM – 1 PM) and Chasing Daylight (1:30-3 PM), both based in the Lehigh Valley, as well as a rock wall for children.

The event will take place at the North Whitehall Township Building (3256 Levans Road, Coplay) and is free and open to the public.

The event will feature various festive holiday performances, as well as hot chocolate and hotdogs from the Upper Lehigh Lions Club and food for purchase from Why Not Burgerz. Crafters, artisans and local businesses will host a vendor market to provide an opportunity for holiday shopping.

Greater Northern Lehigh Hosts 2nd Annual Northwestern Lehigh Tree Lighting at Ontelaunee Park on Dec 4

Santa Claus is scheduled to return to New Tripoli a little early this year, kicking off the holiday season on December 4th in Ontelaunee Park!

Returning for its second year, the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Heidelberg and Lynn Townships and the Honey Done List Co. for the 2nd Annual Northwestern Lehigh Tree Lighting Ceremony.

“Last year’s inaugural event was a huge success,

and we could not be more pleased to be back at Ontelaunee for a second astounding year,”

said Kylie Adams-Weiss

Assistant Vice President of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.

“Our partnership with Heidelberg and Lynn Townships, as well as the entire Northwestern Lehigh community at large, has created a holiday celebration like no other.”

The event will take place on December 4, 2022 from 4:30-7:30 PM and is free and open to the public.

As in its first year, the event will feature festive holiday performances from Northwestern Lehigh and Weisenberg elementary school choruses and dance groups from Rhythm and Sole, with an expanded schedule to include Olivia & the New Life Drum Circle and the Ebenezer Church Choir Carolers.

Prior to the official start of the event, the Lynn-Heidelberg Historical Society will be open for tours of their buildings within Ontelaunee Park from 2:00-5:00 PM.

A vendor market will take place in the lower pavilion with crafters, nonprofits and local businesses with goods for sale for holiday shopping; the upper pavilion will host a variety of food samples (including soup samples from Curious Goods at the Bake Oven Inn, hotdogs and hot chocolate), giveaway items at the Chamber Booth, and a holiday DJ. Throughout the evening, attendees will have the opportunity to partake in cash pony rides (sponsored by Heintzelman Funeral Homes – Schnecksville and Venture Farms), as well as take photos with Frozen’s Elsa, Ana and Olaf. Santa Claus himself will make an appearance, too.

In addition to the Tree Lighting festivities, the event will also host a food drive.

54th Annual Pennridge Gallery of the Arts Returns on September 18!

The Pennridge Gallery Of The Arts will return to Sellersville Borough’s Main Street on September 18, 2022 from 12-5 PM.

With dozens of fine artists and crafters, live music, food trucks, adult beverages, family activities and more, this family-friendly event entertains hundreds of visitors throughout the afternoon.

“We’re thrilled to be returning to Sellersville and growing our festival back to pre-COVID numbers,”

said Kylie Adams-Weiss,

Chairperson for the Pennridge Gallery of the Arts.

“While we may not be as large as in years past, our talented artists and crafters are sure to impress. With traditional media like painting, drawing, printmaking, to photography, graphic design, ceramics and handmade goods, there is a little bit of something for everyone! We hope the community will continue to celebrate and embrace the artists as they do each year.”

Main Street, Sellersville, will be closed for the festival from Green Street to Elm Street, and access to local businesses will be encouraged.

The Picker’s Junction, Next Chapter Bookstore, Johnny Roc’s Pizza, the Washington House and Koolick’s, among others, will be open to the public for those who wish to get out of the sun and support local.

BuxMont Awards will be opening their door to house the 2022 Featured Artist, Micah Myerov.

“Micah’s work is as unique and innovative as it is beautiful,”

said Adams-Weiss.

“We’re happy to have a local Perkasie artist on display at BuxMont Awards this year.” Myerov, who received his BFA in Fine Art Painting from Corcoran Colllege of Art and Design and completed his graduate work in 3D Visual Effects at the Vancouver Film School, works as a freelance sculptor in the entertainment, movie and collectibles industries. His work will be featured in a solo exhibition at BuxMont Awards from 12-5 PM.

Live music will feature local musicians from throughout Bucks County, including Andrew Lobby, JWC Music Studio, St. John’s Wort, the Hometown Trio, Greg Masters, and Elle Gyandoh. In addition, performances from Shanteel Yoga, Dance Works of Quakertown, and Action Karate of Telford. A children’s area will also feature Chippy the Clown and a petting zoo with Callowhill Alpacas.
