Lehigh Valley Haunted Poconos Park Offers Halloween Fun for Everyone

On Halloween weekend Oct 28-29, Lehigh Valley’s Haunted Poconos Park unleashes fun for all ages, with a slew of events from kid-friendly trick or treating to genuine thrills, even sit down dinner and a dance party.

And you’re invited!

Poconos Park is popular for its central location in North East Pennsylvania, with easy drives from NYC, Philly and the Lehigh Valley.

This time of year the road trip is gorgeous.   But as you get closer, your view turns from romantic Autumn to haunted destination.

You drive deep into the dark woods, fog creeps around your car, moonlight pierces through the trees, howling wind makes screachy scratching sounds.

Just then, you expect Leatherface to run out sparking up his chainsaw – and the party hasn’t even started yet.

All of the festivities take place within walking distance at the newly-acquired Pocono Park, a huge indoor / outdoor destination that hosts concerts, theater shows, corporate events, weddings and private gatherings.

This weekend it’s transformed into a Halloween Haven.

Pocono Park manages to create Halloween for everyone, from you littlest goblin who wants candy, laughs, and no scares to the group of friends who want scares and thrills.   Every Halloween and horror lover has a spot here.

For Halloween, event company From The Roots has taken over and promises thrills, smiles and memories for you, your friend and your family.

John M. Oakes, From The Roots

John M. Oakes who runs From The Roots , loves putting on a show and delights in every twist and turn from ultra scary, to the cutest moments.

Earlier this week, we got a preview tour of the most popular attraction – Playhouse of Horror.

It’s a fast-moving, screams around every corner, standing – crawling – jump fest.  Pro tip: Go through it next to your friend who screams the most — it’ll +10 the whole experience for ya.  The Playhouse is fun, fast-paced, well-designed and has the mark of any good maze, when it’s done you’re high-fiving your friends and wanting to get right back in line to go again.

But that’s not all.  Oakes has a banquet planned and an 80’s throwback Dance Party.

Check out each event listed below

Lehigh Valley Humane Society Launches Oct 22 Community Day & Grand Opening!

Lehigh Valley Humane Society Community Day & Grand Opening of Vet Clinic Oct 22

Come tour the brand-new building and celebrate the long-awaited grand reopening of the Lehigh Valley Humane Society on Oct 22

Lehigh Valley Humane Society

There will be live music, kids activities, pet caricatures, food trucks, and more.A ribbon cutting ceremony run by the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce will be at 12pm.

Lehigh Valley Humane Society CEO Hal Warner shares

“On October 22nd 2022, the Lehigh Valley Humane Society

will reintroduce ourselves with not only a new name, but a renewed commitment

to the people and the animals of the Lehigh Valley.

“…Our new state-of-the-art facility will feature over 100 new dog kennels, hundreds of square feet of free roaming cat space, outdoor play yards, dog training and animal grooming.

Lehigh Valley Humane Society

The new LVHS will also offer a brand-new full-service Community Vet Clinic that offers high-quality services at affordable prices. This reopening is a symbol of our ongoing mission to provide exceptional services to the animals of the Lehigh Valley and beyond.”

The nonprofit was founded in 1906 to provide a haven for homeless animals and to prevent cruelty to both animals and children. All homeless animals brought to them will find sanctuary and upon entering, each animal is examined, vaccinated, housed, and fed. In June of 2018 they launched their Community Vet Clinic, a much-needed program to enable responsible pet owners to get otherwise-inaccessible medical care for their pet.

Their mission drives their initiatives as they seek “to be the leading advocate for breeds such as pit bulls that often are left behind or ignored by other shelters. To provide high quality medical care for all animals and to offer financial assistance to those pet owners that cannot otherwise afford vet services. To match responsible pet seekers with their next best friend in order to find the perfect home for the animals in our care.”

Executive Vice President of Affiliated Chambers, Easton & Phillipsburg Area Initiatives, & Northern Tier Jessica O’Donnell-Gower looks forward to the celebration, “The Lehigh Valley Humane Society not only provides a tremendous service for our community and their furry friends, but they also act as true community partners with their involvement and support of other organizations. This Saturday is just one small way we can show up and show the support in return. We hope to see our community come out in full force for this milestone celebration of the Lehigh Valley Humane Society!”

Penn’s Peak Annc’s Ryan Pelton – An Elvis Christmas Show, Saturday, December 3

Penn’s Peak is proud to announce Ryan Pelton – An Elvis Christmas Show, Saturday, December 3, 2022

Ryan Pelton is an international, award winning, Elvis tribute artist, actor, and singer/songwriter.

He often refers to himself as the “Forrest Gump” of the ETA world, and claims to have been blessed with an extraordinary amount of dumb luck.

Ryan Pelton – An Elvis Christmas Show

Ryan Pelton – An Elvis Christmas Show

In September of 1998, Ryan Pelton was dared by his mother to enter a local Elvis contest in Columbus, OH.

At the time, Ryan was building websites for a living.  Ryan didn’t grow up in an “Elvis” household.  He knew little about the King of rock-n-roll, except for the fact that adults in public often said he looked like a “young Elvis” growing up.  Despite only having one week to prepare, Ryan entered the contest and against all odds, he won.

“I remember having to write the lyrics on my hand because I wasn’t familiar with any of the songs.

And keep in mind, I had never sang before in my life before that first contest.”

Pelton’s days as a website designer were soon over, as he wanted to pursue the entertainment world, saying, “I don’t want to be ninety years old one day and look back saying, ‘what if?’”

Over the next decade, Pelton honed his craft becoming an international, award-winning Elvis Tribute Artist.  In 2001 Pelton was declared the “World Champion” when he won the Worldwide Images of the King Contest in Memphis, TN.

He has performed all over the world, from casinos to fairs, theaters to festivals, production shows to professional sports arenas.

Entertaining audiences in the tens-of-thousands, there can be no doubt that Ryan Pelton is the rarest kind of performer – living up to his billing time and time again.

Throughout his career, Pelton has been involved in a number or unique opportunities that have led him to call himself the “Forest Gump” of the ETA world.  Ryan performed with the world’s largest impersonator production show, Legends in Concert, for nearly a decade, including a six year stint in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Early in his career, Ryan appeared in an all-Elvis version of The Weakest Link, where he walked away the winner of the second largest total ever won on the show in the United States.  He has appeared in an international commercial for Volvo, was the featured ETA in a special collector’s “Elvis Edition” of TV Guide, and was the body double for Elvis as he performed a duet of “If I Can Dream” on American Idol with Celine Dion.

During this time he also made his first movie appearance as he played the role of Elvis in the Dakota Fanning move, Hounddog.

In 2011, Ryan Pelton decided it was time to take his career to the next level when he released his first original album, Wash Over Me.  Within a week after the release of the album, Pelton was signed as a song writer by a well-known Nashville publishing company.

Shortly thereafter, Ryan Pelton was offered the lead role in a Hollywood film called The Identical.  Ryan Pelton took on the screen name of “Blake Rayne” for the film, which also starred Ray Liotta, Ashley Judd, and Seth Green.

The film, which won the audience choice award for best film at the Nashville Film Festival, opened in theaters on September 5, 2014, and is currently a top ten rental on Netflix.

The Elvolution

While he was unable to perform as Elvis during the production of The Identical, Ryan Pelton has returned in 2015, touring again as the King of rock-n-roll.  His entertainment company is launching a new show called The Elvolution, and he has dedicated himself to competing in Elvis Presley Enterprises’ 2015 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest in Memphis, TN on August 11 & 13, 2015.

Ryan still continues to write and record his original music under the name of Blake Rayne, and is currently working on his first original album under that name.   “Blake” also continues to audition for acting roles, saying that, “Acting is one of the hardest things I have ever done… I guess that’s why I like it so much.  It kind of calls to my soul”.

But have no doubt – Ryan Pelton got his first break in entertainment by singing Elvis Presley music, and he has no plans to stop what got him where he is any time soon.

Says Pelton, “Life is like a box of chocolates… and I got the one that looks like Elvis!  I consider myself lucky… and I owe so much to Elvis.  Without the King and his music, I’d still be building websites.”

Tickets on sale Friday, July 29th at 10:00AM at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Penn’s Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant and Bar.  Penn’s Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant ticket sales are walk-up only, no phone orders.

Your Summertime Adventures Deserve a Refreshing Taste, Here’s the drink for you

Your summertime adventures deserve a refreshing taste, with healthy results and supporting a good case, taste CaliWater.

This summer many families are going on adventures – from a fun night out, to local road trips to traditional vacations and everything in between.  Families are looking for flavor, looking for healthy options, when possible choosing to support social good.

Recently we tasted a solution that solves all of this and more.

CaliWater is the latest celebrity-driven brand on an already crowded grocery shelf to promote flavor, fun and health.

Before you judge it, have you tried cactus water?  If not, honestly it’s worth a taste.

Open your mind (and your mouth) to the world of cactus water. Try the taste of CaliWater.

The Flavor

CaliWater comes in two subtle, but very different flavors:

Ginger + Lime

It’s a drink that adds a pop to your tongue.

Tasting-wise, on the nose is heavy lime that for me became a palette cleanser.  Got a funky taste in your mouth?  This can will save you.  The lime notes carry over on your palette and the ginger adds a refreshing zing.   The linger lasts, leaving a pleasant and refreshing taste.

Wild Prickly Pear

Tasting-wise, on your nose its a bit sweet and even floral.  As you taste, it’s giving your mouth a sweet, refreshing bath similar to a bite of watermelon.

But How Healthy is CaliWater?

The simple answer is: very healthy.

Caliwater contains 5 naturally occurring electrolytes to boost hydration and is packed with skin fortifying antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, and 200mg of Prickly Pear Extract which is a proven hangover relief.

Prickly Pear Cactus has shown to lower cholesterol, regulate blood sugar levels, and provides natural anti-viral properties. Known as a “superfruit”, the Prickly Pear Cactus has been the health solution go-to for many all over the world.

Proven Hangover Relief

Let’s repeat an important part.  The drinks include 200mg of Prickly Pear Extract which is a proven hangover relief.

Cali water also serves as a fantastic mixer for your favorite cocktail.

Created with passion, love, and a clear mission in mind

Earth-friendly activists Vanessa Hudgens and Oliver Trevena bonded while enjoying a prickly pear margarita.

They launched CaliWater, California cactus water that goes beyond just hydration.

Created with passion, love and a clear mission in mind CaliWater hopes to promote healthy eco-friendly lifestyles and to make the world a better place.

With up to 75% of Americans being considered chronically dehydrated CaliWater offer the tasty yet healthy alternative to water that also presents benefits for health and well-being.

Giving Social Good

CaliWater’s goal is not only to provide health benefits to their customers, but also to raise awareness about the fight against childhood hunger.

Partnering with No Kid Hungry a charity working to stop hungry children, Cali Wter pledges to donate $0.05 for every can purchased with the goal of donating $1,000,000 by April 2022.
