Il Volo Sings Morricone and more at Wind Creek on Sept 29

Superstar Italian trio IL VOLO releases their highly anticipated new album IL VOLO SINGS MORRICONE (Sony Masterworks), available everywhere now.

Endorsed by Ennio Morricone’s family, IL VOLO SINGS MORRICONE is a dedication to the beloved Maestro and an exciting journey through the art and music of one of the greatest composers of the 20th century.

In support of the new album, the trio will head out on the road once again on a 25-date North American tour.

Of the new album, Il Volo shares:

“We are very proud to continue Ennio Morricone’s legacy by sharing the beauty of his Italian melodies through our voices with a new generation.”

In celebration of their new album, Il Volo will also embark on a world tour, which kicks off in North America on March 4, 2022 in Canada and continues to the United States beginning March 11.

The 25-date North American tour will include stops at iconic venues like Radio City Music Hall in New York, Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco. Tickets for the tour will be available everywhere Friday, November 12.

Museum Must-Sees in the Poconos

Poconos has history and culture; and what a great way to explore both by visiting these museums.

Old Jail Museum

Located in Jim Thorpe, the amazing museum is a bucket list item for sure.

The coal mining history of the Poconos and the painful story of coal miners who were given death sentences will raise your eyebrows. The 7 coal miners were collectively known as Molly Maguires who were hanged to death in 1877.

Cold hallways. Strange handprints on the walls.  All reminders to visitors of the pain of the prisoners.

Love mysterious places?  It’s a must visit during your trip to the Poconos.

Antoine Dutot Museum & Gallery

Curious about the early education system of America?

Antoine Dutot Museum & Gallery is perfect to witness a school made of bricks, an old classroom and a vintage bell that looks just like a liberty bell. The former art school was later converted into a museum.

It was named after the great Antoine Dutot who discovered the town Dutotsville later renamed Delaware Water Gap. Their gallery exhibits old rifles, documents and rare art pieces.

Pocono Indian Museum

Pocono Indian Museum is a quaint yet intriguing visit in Poconos.

The main theme of Delaware Indians exhibits amazing artefacts, tools and weapons from the Delaware Indian era. Delaware Indians were the first people to come into contact with Europeans. The greatest peacemakers of their time and hence honored with the title “Grandfather” by the tribes.

Asa Packer Mansion Museum

Asa packer mansion was the residence of Asa Packer.

Asa Packer the famed humanitarian, founder of Lehigh University and railroad magnate. This 3 story mansion with 18 rooms and a large living area is one of the legacies left behind by the local legend. The mansion was opened to the public in 1956 and has since become national importance.

Daughter Mary Packer, a doting daughter of Asa Packer led transforming the home into a memorial to her father.

Mauch Chunk Museum

Learn how Mauch chunk flourished with the coal age and declined afterwards before being renamed Jim Thorpe.

The museum shows beautiful artefacts through all the stages of development in Mauch Chunk. Showcasing victorian era through every corner of the museum.

The museum is a 2 story building. It has a museum on the first floor whereas the second floor has a magnificent ballroom which can be rented for corporate events, wedding receptions and museum events.

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom returns on Friday the 13th

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom opens to the public on May 13, 2022, for its 139th season.

The park is located at 4000 Dorney Park Rd, Allentown, PA and will open its gates at 11:00 am and close at 7:00 pm.

The Dorney Park side of the amusement park will open Friday, while the Wildwater Kingdom will officially be available to the public on May 28.

The Amusement park release their full event lineups:

  • Opening Day (Friday, May 13): The season kicks off with your favorite rides, food, shows and more.
  • Season Pass Preview for Wildwater Kingdom (Sunday, May 22): Be the first to experience the splashtastic fun by being a season passholder. Among the many benefits, you’ll get to visit Wildwater Kingdom on this exclusive Season Passholder Preview Day, six days before it opens to the public for the 2022 season.
  • Wildwater Kingdom Opening Day (May 28): Get outside and jump into a water lover’s paradise, the coolest place to slide, splash, chill and dine.
  • Fourth of July Celebration (July 4): When night falls, stay for an Independence Day event that will knock your sparklers off with an impressive display of holiday fireworks. Witness an exhilarating fanfare of radiant bursts and brilliant shimmers complemented by a patriotic soundtrack set to begin at approximately 9 p.m.
  • Grand Carnivale (July 23 – August 7): Come experience how the world kicks up its heels at our day-to-night, larger-than-life, global celebration. King Carl Nivale, Queen Cara Nivale, and their Royal Court are your hosts on a worldwide expedition. Enjoy amazing high-energy live music, delicious international food, lively games and unique crafts.
  • Halloween Haunt (select nights, September 16 – October 29): Every corner is cursed with haunted scare mazes, scare zones and live (or maybe not live) entertainment. Hordes of hungry zombies and blood-thirsty vampires eagerly await you – i.e. their next meal. Add our world-class thrill rides that instill a brand of fear all their own and you’ve got an extreme, supreme Halloween event.
  • The Great Pumpkin Fest (Saturdays and Sundays, September 17 – October 30): Hop on your tractor, pirate ship or witch’s broom and hurry on over for a super-sized festival of all things fall at Dorney Park’s Great Pumpkin Fest. We’ve got a full harvest of fall-tastic fun for everyone with games, activities and just a speck of spooky for pint-sized ghosts and goblins.
