Their natural line of skinny syrups is available in 4 guilt-free flavors, including Vanilla Bean, Salted Caramel, Cinnamon Dolce, and Chocolate Mocha, for your coffee, tea, protein shakes, baking, or just about anything.

Jordan’s Skinny Mixes was founded in 2009 by female entrepreneur Jordan Engelhardt. The beverage brand was created with the simple desire to enjoy a margarita that wasn’t loaded with sugar and empty calories. Now with over 100 products, this female-led team is on a mission to craft beverages that cut the sugar and keep the fun from coffee ‘til cocktails.

Skinny Mixes can now be found in over 13,000 specialty retail locations across the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe, including Target stores, Skinnymixes.com, and Amazon.

Jordan Engelhardt is an impressive person, so when I had the chance to meet up and have a conversation, it was an easy yes.

Just to give us some background, what were you up to before launching back in 2009?

Back in 2009 I was a recent college graduate working in real estate as an appraiser. I launched this product [Jordan’s Skinny Mixes] right when the recession was basically at its peak. It had just started and the market crashed pretty heavily in Florida where I was living at the time.

So I found myself without work, and this idea that I felt pretty strongly about.

What are some of the biggest changes you’ve navigated in the industry over those 10 years?

Oh, there’s been a lot.  The world has evolved much more to natural products, which is why we’re here at Expo West as we just have launched our new natural line so this is pretty big for us.

Also,  the customization of flavors over the years have just gotten more and more prevalent.

Millennials, and the population in general, really like the variety of flavors, and being able to customize everything. And then Covid really drove at-home consumption of coffee. So I think all of those trends over the last 10 years have really helped drive this company’s growth.

When Covid forced everyone to stay home, did that become a “lucky opportunity” for the business and boost at-home coffee drinking?

It was certainly fortunate in some ways, but in many other ways  [not as much].  We were selling to many grocery accounts. We’re selling to a lot of specialty stores which had no choice but to close their doors. So we lost quite a bit of distribution during that time, but were able to make up for it online [with website e-commerce].  So [with market] penetration and trying to drive consumer growth, in that capacity, yes, it was fortunate.   But it was also a little bit scary [for us], like many other businesses at the same time.

What is the biggest misconception in general about skinny mixes?

People don’t necessarily understand the versatility of our syrup and how you can not only use it for coffee, but you can use it for baking and protein shakes, and just anything.

Flavored syrups are great for iced teas.  You can simply just add a dash to water and transform your water.

Once we got the samples this week, the amount of random things we’ve tried [the skinny mixes] with just to see how it’d go.

I love it!  It’s part of the fun and part of the great relationship we have with our consumers.  They

have so much fun experimenting and making these recipes, and then including us on that.

So [experimenting with the syrups on different foods]  just became a benefit over the years. It’s certainly something we think about now.

We have this really amazing closed Facebook group that has really active members. It’s called “Skinny mixes. Share your recipe”.  You can see the amount of creativity that our users come up with and then they share their recipes.

One person put it with sweet potatoes, they used it on egg sandwiches. Interesting wild things that you would never think about.

Can you share a little bit about the inspiration behind the line and how you develop the flavors?

Yes, of course. We have a great relationship with our consumers, and they asked for it.   When they ask, we listen.  We do a lot of innovation. We launch a lot of flavors.

So that’s where it came from and it’s really done. We’ve gotten into Target with this line.  We take a lot of pride in listening to what our customers want, and this is what they wanted

What’s the development process like for these flavors?

We have several partnerships with different food labs and beverage labs.   We start by verbally explaining to them what we’re looking for. We have a big panel at our company and we just do a lot of tasting. It often takes quite a bit of time because we take a lot of pride in making sure it tastes exactly what we were visualizing.

We can come up with anything from “Mermaid” to “Unicorn”.   The different food labs across the country are amazing and they make it happen.

It’s a slow, methodical approach.  Then we have a larger tasting panel and we keep going until we find just the right mix.

That’s incredible.  What’s the timeline from concept to finished product?

It varies widely.  It could take a couple of months or it could take over a year. Probably on average, about 4 to 6 months.

Do you ever try to create flavors and they don’t end up working out?

Oh, it happens all the time, especially in the beginning.  We’re innovating constantly.  Trends change fairly quickly.   We’ve been fortunate with a robust website where we can test things quite easily and pivot.

Are there any teases as to what flavors might be next?

Well at the show we’re launching our naturally sweetened flavors. French vanilla, caramel, peppermint, mocha and pumpkin spice. Maybe some new seasonal offerings after that. We’re constantly innovating, constantly looking at new categories.

Switching over to coffee, what inspired you to launch coffee syrups?

12 years ago the company started with cocktail mixes.  With the popularity of Starbucks and people going through the drive through and having what they thought was guilt-free drinks but was not necessarily guilt free.

They didn’t realize how many calories they are consuming with their Frappuccino or their latte.

It immediately seemed like another way to really help people not have such a sugar laden beverage every single day.

That’s why the coffee syrup was developed.  Since cocktail mixes are so seasonal, coffee syrup is something that consumers consume daily. So it was a natural extension for the product line with the coffee syrup

You have some new coffee flavors launching as well

Listening to the trends and looking at the popularity of the most popular flavors just through our [tasting] panel. and you know, just having a great team that’s out and about, and looking at menus, and using some common sense, if you will, and reading up on trends, it’s then a 3 prong process.

You’re getting a lot of positive attention at ExpoWest. What in your opinion, makes for a successful trade show?

Taking the step to take the risk to be there and have your branding there; and be open to meeting consumers and buyers in the trade. We try to make it fun. So we serve cocktails, and we’re going to be serving espresso Martinis today. Yesterday we served Margaritas, and we had a speakeasy happy hour.  It helps people really understand the brand, and come by and see us.  I think that’s most important, really put your brand out there and your brand’s personality and just have fun with it.

Can you talk a little bit about the mission behind Jordan’s Skinny Mixes?

Our mission summarized is crafting beverages that cut the sugar and keep the fun for a healthier, more flavorful lifestyle and to make everyday moments simply sweeter.

What is your biggest call to action for the audience?

I’d love the consumers to experiment at home. I’d love for them to make their latte at home.  Make that morning coffee at home. So many people will say it’s going to be a better experience.

Try our products.  You’re going to save calories. You’re going to save time. You’re going to save money.

Bookstore Speakeasy Brings Memorable Style and Flavor to Bethlehem’s Bar Scene

Bookstore Speakeasy brings memorable style and flavor to Bethlehem’s bar scene.

As the name suggests, Bookstore Speakeasy brings us back to the Prohibition era speakeasy times.  The owners and staff work hard to recreate the look and style of the area and deliver incredible tastes.

According to their website, reservations are suggestions.  They’re being modest.

Reservations are pretty much mandatory unless you want to wait over an hour.  So, make a reservation.  It’s worth it.

Also, since this is a “specialty” restaurant, please check out my tips at the bottom of the article.

You enter through a non-descript door on a plain-looking street.  At first, I didn’t think I was at the right place.  And, of course, this is all planned on-purpose to match the business’s theme.

Bookstore Speakeasy brings memorable style and flavor to Bethlehem’s bar scene.

Bookstore Speakeasy’s lobby

You walk down the steps into a different world.

The world of a prohibition-style speakeasy.  The owners have done a thorough and detailed job on design and it pays off.

Bookstore Speakeasy brings memorable style and flavor to Bethlehem’s bar scene.

Bookstore Speakeasy’s specialty drink list

In the lobby you wait with other guests until you’re called by the hostess, and then your full party enters yet another world: the bar / seating area.  It’s even more dense with speakeasy design.

Cuisine

The drinks are excellent.  The food is excellent.

They have a full bar, but also offer custom drink specials.

Bookstore Speakeasy brings memorable style and flavor to Bethlehem’s bar scene.

Bookstore Speakeasy’s bar

Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Their drinks aren’t traditionally straight forward.  Rather, they’re almond infused, maple-infused, etc.  Everything I tasted was “a little bit different” than what I expected.

I could see some people loving that detail.  I could see others being very frustrated. The barstaff doesn’t want you to be frustrated, so ask questions.

Once I started asking more and more questions, the bartender (Ry) was very helpful and friendly.  He ended up pouring me several small samples until I could figure out what I’d like.

The food was plentiful and outstanding.  If you’re a foodie, it’s worth a visit for the food alone.

Ambiance

You’re there for the vibe and it pays off immediately and consistently.

The scene is locally award-winning and very well-crafted.

Bookstore Speakeasy brings memorable style and flavor to Bethlehem’s bar scene.

A mostly-finished Old-Fashioned with 2 samples

I would’ve expected dates, seduction and romance.  To me, the vibe was swanky, lounge-y romantic. (maybe that says more about me).

Inside, there was a college-aged date at the bar, a Moms Night Out at one table and older couples (55+) at two other tables. A private group party cozied off in a secluded corner.

Made it hard to figure out the bar’s demographic as tonight’s crowd was very mixed.  However it felt like a local hang, as “Lehigh” and “Moravian Academy” were both overhead several times.

For me, I’d travel from well outside the area to have this experience.

There is a corner of the room for a live band and supposedly there’s live music most nights.  The overall area seemed too small for that, like the sound would dominate everything.

If you’re a live music lover, maybe that’s great news.  Out for dinner, drinks and conversation, maybe that’s not great news.

Service

So here’s where I messed up.  It’s not really a “walk-in and grab a quick drink” bar.  You really want to make reservations ahead of time.  This is “suggested” on their website, but it should be required.

The bar seems to be maintained at a quarter full.  The restaurant is steady at ⅔ full.

So, I received rushed service.  The hostess worked to squeeze me into their packed schedule.  Once seated, the bartender was very helpful.  I had a quick drink and a bite and moved on quickly enough to fit their next scheduled seating after me.

Hospitality

All in all, it reminds me of a mini-version Los Angeles’ Magic Castle.  At the Castle their rules are very straightforward, respected, must be followed, and the venue is a better place as a result.  If anyone asked my opinion, I’d suggest the Bookstore lean more into “rules”.

Bookstore Speakeasy can easily be a special night worthy of driving from anywhere in Eastern PA (roughly 30-45 mins).  I’d go back again, but this time I know the rules.

Tips:

  1. Make a reservation
  2. Walk in with an adventurous palette
  3. Sit down expecting to spend some money.  It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it.
  4. Know there’s an automatic 25% gratuity added to your bill. Order accordingly.
  5. Ask the bartenders and waiters questions.  Have fun with the experience.

Bookstore Speakeasy is delicious, memorable and helpful.

Youell’s Oyster House is the Lehigh Valley’s Answer to ‘Sea to Table’ Seafood

Youell’s Oyster House is the Lehigh Valley’s answer to seafood.

Youell’s Oyster House is hidden in a cozy neighborhood of Allentown, PA within minutes of the Allentown Fairgrounds, Muhlenberg College and Cedar Crest College.  About twenty minutes from the PPL center.

Youell’s Oyster House has History

Part of Pennsylvania history, originally opened in 1895. Then Gus Filipos, a longtime patron of Youell’s, bought the business in 1984 and his son Chris joined in 1987.

Youells-Oyster-house

Over the years they earned a reputation for excellent food.  Their oysters, their Certified Black Angus beef. Their wine and craft beer selections.

And very fresh seafood.

According to their website the scallops (and presumably most of their seafood) is caught less than 12 hours before being served on your plate.

Pretty good.

The motto they repeat throughout their website is:

“Upscale dining

in a relaxed atmosphere.”

I was told a few times during a recent East Coast visit, that Youell’s has the best seafood in the Lehigh Valley, so I planned to try them out.

Let’s Taste Youell’s

I arrive on a Saturday mid-afternoon, take a seat at their half full bar and proceed to order an Old Fashioned, Caesar Salad and Salmon Tartare.

Youellls Oyster House Caesar salad

Youells Oyster House Caesar salad

Cuisine

Are the ingredients fresh? Is your dish well-plated?

The cuisine is excellent.  Crisp lettuce in the salad.  Fresh, creamy salmon tartare.  The plating is inventive and inspiring.  I can close my eyes later and still happily taste it all.

Youells Oyster House Salmon Tartare

Youells Oyster House Salmon Tartare

Youell’s Ambience

The setting is comfortably disarming.  The phrase they use is “Upscale dining in a relaxed atmosphere’ and they accomplish this goal.

Open floorplan, lovingly re-built after a devastating fire, pastel and light wood.  Lots of outside light shining in.

Youells Oyster Bar

Youells Oyster Bar

Not necessarily “romantic”, but more “homey”.  Not really a first date kind of place, nor a “Saturday night” kind of place.

I am a bit surprised the customers ranged older (55+) considering the location is so close to colleges and other younger spots.

Service

As mentioned, it’s a Saturday afternoon and I am surprised by how busy it is.  Feels like neighbors and regulars.  Nobody seems “in a rush.”

My bartender is friendly and pleasant, but she keeps busy.  The service is as relaxed as the vibe itself.  Some prefer that, some would like a bit more attention.

youell-oyster-house-lehigh-valley-seafood

Hospitality

Does the restaurant deliver on the promise it makes to their customers?

If you’re looking for comfort and excellent food, this is a great place to try.  Not “impressive” or romantic, but down home quality.

I’d go back again on a Friday or Saturday night to see if the vibe does evolve for a more sexy, date night feel.  But my guess is, it doesn’t and that’s the way the restaurant and its usual crowd likes it.

Youell’s Oyster House has excellent seafood in the Lehigh Valley, but their relaxed ambience might leave some of their customers wanting more of an experience.

Three Oak Steakhouse Delivers: Big Flavor, Great Service, located in Easton PA

Three Oak Steakhouse delivers: big flavor, great service, located in Easton, PA

When you visit the Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, you ask everyone about where to find good food.

Every foodie I’ve met gets a twinkle in their eye when they mention Easton’s Three Oak Steakhouse.

So I was excited to try it.

Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley is growing.  And so are the food choices. People are demanding quality, service and ambience.

Does Three Oak Steakhouse hold up to these very high standard?

On a recent visit, I tasted their cocktails, caesar salad, 20 oz dry-aged  Kansas City Steak, and a mushroom side dish.

Three Oak Steakhouse Easton PA

Three Oak Steakhouse’s Caesar salad

Cuisine

Are the ingredients fresh?  Is your plate well-made?

Exceptionally well-done.  A wide variety of steak and seafood with high-end side dishes.  The cocktails are mixed well.  Balanced.  The wine list is diverse with mostly traditional choices (Hello California Cab) and a few Old World and enough brave picks that would make a NYC wino grin.

Three Oak Steakhouse Easton PA

Three Oak Steakhouse medium rare 20 oz dry-aged  Kansas City Steak

My Caesar was crisp, slightly indulgent with house-made dressing.  My 20 oz dry-aged  Kansas City Steak was cooked perfectly, seared with a slight crust that provided just enough crunch.  The mushrooms were extra juicy and prepared well to compliment my dinner.

Ambience

The setting is steakhouse perfect.  Dim lighting.  Wood tones.  A selection of bar seating, smaller tables (think date night) and large tables for friends or business.  The rooftop bar is a pleasant surprise and a fun hangout.

Three Oak Steakhouse Easton PA

Service

Much like you’d expect from a high-end steakhouse, the service is exceptional.  Fast, very knowledgable and helpful without being too “needy”.  All the wait staff kept their distance letting you enjoy your time and yet magically arrive just when you need them

The servers, bartenders and wait staff are anticipating your needs and often a few steps ahead of you.

Hospitality

Does the restaurant deliver on the promise it makes to their customer?

Absolutely yes.  Three Oak Steakhouse offers you an incredible night of excellent food and drink in a dramatic, cozy setting, with service that arrives just when you need them.

I can understand the smiles and starry eyes after my first visit.  Three Oak Steakhouse is helping Easton and the Lehigh Valley establish themselves as an East Coast foodie destination.

From the award-winning design of the bottle, these superior bottled cocktails were solely created so expertly handcrafted cocktails could be shared and effortlessly enjoyed anywhere.

“Our mission was to create a collection of cocktails that were equal in taste and quality to those freshly crafted by a skilled bartender. Peter Lloyd Jones was the best choice, and I can’t imagine working with anyone better, “

says Levy.

Pete was Head Barman at 1886 Bar at The Raymond and he was also behind the stick at Everson Royce Bar for several years, so his experience is invaluable, and his passion and creativity make him the perfect partner at Knox & Dobson.”

Levy’s upbringing in Skokie, Illinois, at Knox Avenue and Dobson Street is where Levy spent most of his adolescence in the ‘60s and 70’s hanging out “on the corner” with neighborhood kids who remain lifelong friends.

Knox & Dobson is as much an elevated on-the-go craft beverage experience as it is a distillation of hometown pride and a love of bringing people together.

Each Knox & Dobson bottled cocktail is 200 milliliters and features two servings. Whether you are a classic Martini drinker (34% ABV), this is a take on the classic combining gin with dry vermouth to create a flavor profile of an aromatic gin martini that is slightly earthy and refreshing to drink. Lloyd Jones recommends serving this cocktail up or over ice, garnished with olives.

Old Fashioned aficionados (38% ABV) can savor this cocktail which consists of straight aged bourbon, natural cane sugar, orange oil and Angostura Bitters with tastes of aged bourbon with bright citrus flavors, bitters, raw cinnamon, clove, and American oak.

The Improved Whiskey Cocktail (35.42% ABV) – made with straight aged rye whiskey, Maraska Maraschino Liqueur and Angostura bitters – has a spiced flavor profile combined with American oak, citrus, along with bright and deep cherry notes.

This is a whiskey cocktail that is meant to be sipped and savored.

Finally, the Rye Manhattan (36% ABV) is made with straight aged rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, and Angostura bitters. The tantalizing pairing of the aged whiskey combined with the aromatic Italian-style vermouth creates a spice, citrus and charred oakwood profile that will have anyone asking for another round.

Who’s ready for happy hour? And, if your go-to cocktail isn’t on the menu just yet, don’t worry. The Knox & Dobson bar cart will be rolling this Summer with more cocktails on the way and no shortage of inspiration.

Spirits Begin by Exploring

Kishor Chokshi is a world-class engineer who was working in Glycerin distillation at a factory in Tanzania, Africa.  Like so many others, he wanted more out of life for his family and himself; and risked it all to pursue that goal.

Explorer Spirits Allentown PA

That ambition led him across the world to land in Allentown, PA where he decided to leverage his world-class science skills from Glycerin distillation to spirit distillation and created Kilimanjaro Distillery.

The Chokshi family founded Xplorer Spirits and Kilimanjaro Distillery.

Related: Taste of Kutztown is set to deliver a delicious day for a good cause on June 11

In conversations with Kishor and his co-founder and daughter Niky, we quickly learn how much these two names (Xplorer and Kilimanjaro) really influence the Chokshis, because whether it’s in life or your taste buds, they want to explore the world and they want to inspire you to explore with them.

Xplorer Spirits Allentown PA

Also, just like Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro, they aspire to compete with the very best in the world and win!  Based on their awards and how quickly their company is growing, they’re on their way to victory.

Let’s Get Tasting

Xplorer offers 10 different spirits and in the last few years, they’ve won several awards including Platinum for Wheat Vodka from The Sip Awards, Triple Gold for Apple Pie Moonshine from Micro Liquor Spirit Awards and Gold for Bourbon Whiskey from Great American International Spirits Competition and Double Gold for their American Gin in 2021 at the World Spirit Trophy Competition in Germany.

Xplorer Wheat Vodka

Wheat from America’s mid-west, fermented and distilled to a smooth, neutral profile.

Subtle on the nose.  Clean with gentle vanilla and cream.

As you take a sip, notes of vanilla, cream, and lemon peel fill your mouth.  It lingers into a long finish of whipped cream and citrus.  So clean, soft and delicate.  An extraordinary taste.

Xplorer Potato Vodka (Gluten Free)

Continuing to celebrate Pennsylvania’s local farmland, their potatoes are sourced near the Lehigh Valley to use in the fermentation and distillation.  This is an advantage as the area’s potatoes are known for a crisp profile and a hint of natural sweetness.

The aroma hits your nose immediately.  Lemon peel, light spice, rye bread.

Your mouth gets notes of custard, vanilla and spice.  Finishing with vanilla pudding, anise and the subtlest smooth spicy note that lasts extra long and begs you to take another sip.

Xplorer American Gin

Made with 14 different botanicals sourced from across the globe including: Europe, Madagascar and Tanzania.

Juniper, coriander, cardamom, cinnamon, cubeb berries, grains of paradise, orange, lemon and a blend of 5 proprietary herbs that are vapor infused for an exceptionally clean and dry finish.

The nose flirts with you, gushing citrus and gin’s trademark touch of juniper.

The mouth continues its romance with a full-bodied experience.  So many of the international ingredients balanced well: dry juniper, coriander, citrus, lemon, refreshing, crisp, smooth. The finish is fresh, fruity, light, bright, refreshing.

Xplorer Rooibis Flavored American Gin

Rooibos is from a plant that grows in South Africa. The leaves are used to make a herbal tea infused with the health benefits of anti-oxidants and polyphenols from the Rooibos herb.  And today we get to enjoy it in this bottle.

Once again starting with the juniper nose you’d expect from a quality gin.  The mouth is more herbal, nutty, with slight pepper.  The finish is smooth with spices. These are all traits that come with Rooibos.  It adds a texture and dimension that’s subtle, unique and adds meaty, earthy pairing options like roasted lamb.

Xplorer Bourbon (High Rye)

Sourced exclusively from North American corn, rye & malt.

The nose is a delicious balance of caramel, vanilla and the slightest hint of sweet corn.  The mouth is luscious!  A big kiss of maple, caramel and vanilla with the rye and spice that you want from a rye bourbon.  A finish that hugs you tightly with light oak and spices; and gently, slowly relaxes its romantic embrace.

I’m personally a fan of rye bourbon and this is one of the best tastes I’ve had in recent years, including attending several grand tastings.  For me, this bottle is a winner.

Xplorer Spirits Chocolate Bourbon

Xplorer Chocolate Bourbon

Made using Xplorer’s own Bourbon Whiskey, with cacao from Uganda, Dominican Republic & Ecuador.

The nose hits you from a mile away.  Strong, deep, several layers of varied cocoa flavor.  If you’re a chocolate lover, get ready!

The mouth is creamy and indulgent, but not heavy.  Smooth, complicated, balanced.  Ending with rich & creamy notes of dark chocolate, maple, and caramel.

Xplorer Honey Bourbon

A local favorite!

All-natural Pennsylvania dark honey blended with Xplorer’s own Bourbon Whiskey creates a very special bottle.  Whiskey connoisseurs need to give it a taste.  The specially-sourced dark honey creates a magic outcome.

On the nose you’ll find sweet caramel, honey and vanilla.  The mouth is very special!  Very complex honey with maple, caramel and cream.  A smooth, rich finish that goes on and on.

Xplorer Spirits Peach Bourbon

Xplorer Peach Bourbon

Made with ripe peaches famous from South Carolina and Georgia

The nose is a full waft of sweet ripe peaches.  The mouth continues smooth peaches and adds cream and vanilla for the end.  A delicate, consistent balance.

Xplorer Spirits Peanut Butter Bourbon

Xplorer Peanut Butter Whiskey

The newest treat from Xplorer.

The nose offers fresh-roasted peanuts, caramel and toasted nut butter.  The mouth is smooth caramel peanut butter with a hint of vanilla.  Ending with creamy roasted peanuts and vanilla.

Xplorer Spirits Bourbon

Xplorer Pennsylvania Dutch Apple Pie

A local favorite for a reason!  A special blend; and no matter how good you’re expecting it to be, it still manages to surprise you with how good it is.

Whiskey, vodka, local Pennsylvanian apples, Tanzanian cinnamon and spices make for a bold and spicey adventure.

On the nose you’ll find cinnamon, vanilla, all-spice and apple.

On the mouth is a burst of apple.  Like a carnival candy apple with cinnamon and hazelnut.  The layers and details dance on your tongue with a finish that brings in whipped cream and cinnamon.

It’s a fun tasting experience!

As you can imagine, the diverse selection attracts a wide range of customers.

Some are attracted to the award-winning acclaim, some traditionalists are attracted to their high-level vodka, gin and high rye.  The bar crowd and younger drinkers are loving their flavored whiskeys.

Xplorer Spirits

Kishor Chokshi at Kilimanjaro Distillery

You can find many of the bottles at your local bar or liquor store.  If you’re in Pennsylvania, look for the “local” section, but Xplorer Spirits has grown outside the East Coast, traveling to shelves nationwide.

Here’s a pro tip, try the peanut butter together with the apple pie.  Incredible!

One of the key reasons for the incredible aromas and flavors is Kishor’s use of quality ingredients.  See the video below as he shows us how the honey actually drifts on the honey bourbon bottle.

Xplorer Spirits are Quality Ingredients and a World-Class Process

Xplorer strives to celebrate Pennsylvania’s rich agricultural heritage in each bottle, sourcing local ingredients whenever possible and using Kishor’s decades of science expertise to carefully craft the finest small-batch spirits.

From every step of the process: from mash to ferment, to distill, and finishing up with in-house bottling, the experience is truly artisan.

At their Kiliminjaro Distillery headquarters, the 12x distillation removes impurities and leaves the bottle with cleaner taste and aroma.  Compare that to others, even the most high-end competitors are only distilled 6-7 times.

The difference is obvious and the results are truly outstanding.

Xplorer Spirits Perfect Pairing

We discussed the quality ingredients in the bottle.  But we need to discuss the quality ingredients outside the bottle, the father-daughter combination that makes up the brand.

If dad Kishor is the science, then daughter Niky is the vibrant spirit.  Her voice, her energy; she’s a star.

Whether’s she’s leading a boardroom of executives through her next marketing strategy, or guiding a bar full of patrons through a tasting, her infectious energy compels you to take a sip and love what you taste.

The only thing better than Niky’s passion for their drinks is seeing Kishor beam as he proudly watches his daughter work.
