Join the Celebration! European Wax Center of Center Valley Celebrates 1 Yr Anniversary on April 28 with local business owner Nanci Emiliani

Join the Southern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce to celebrate European Wax Center of the Promenade Shops one-year anniversary!

European Wax Center began as a family-owned business in 2004 and strives to have every guest “Walk in and STRUT out” feeling confident.

Owner of several of the local stores, Nanci Emiliani fell in love with the brand and their mission in 2009.

She opened up her first location in 2015 and continued to expand the European Wax Center brand across the Valley by opening a third location at the Promenade in 2021. With Covid being still very prominent at that time, it made celebrating their official opening challenging.

“Many people do not realize that the national chain stores within our community are locally owned and operated”, stated Hayden Rinde, Assistant Vice President of the Southern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce.

“We love working with the local owners because they are so passionate about their involvement in the community.”

Nanci and her EWC team want to take the time and celebrate all the joys of being open for over a year with their staff, family, friends, guests and their amazing Promenade neighbors.

All are invited to join the celebration on Friday April 28th from 12:30 to 2:30. Along with snacks, drinks, and some amazing promotions and raffles, a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 1:30.

When: April 28th, 2023 12:30 to 2:30, Ribbon Cutting at 1:30

Steal Your Peach with Special Guest Ron Holloway at Penn’s Peak Saturday July 29

Penn’s Peak is proud to announce Steal Your Peach with Special Guest Ron Holloway, Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 8pm.

Each of us has multiple projects currently both original and not, but have formed a bond here with some of our favorite and most influential music, paying close attention to detail of all of the original music, while also adding our own improv to the mix making each show unique and exciting, and to create a very tangible symbiotic experience between the band and the listeners.

The RIAA Platinum-selling artist’s current solo studio album, Caught Up in the Country, reveals an artist who is confident enough to know that making you best music can require patience and experimentation.

The results are his most daring collection so far, touching on emotions and sounds which continue to expand his range- from the twangy celebration of the album’s title track (featuring the roof-raising vocals of The Fisk Jubilee Singers) to the slow-burn cover of Jason Isbell’s “Cover Me Up.”

With six Number One singles, eight Top 5 singles, and 1.4 billion career on-demand streams under his belt, Atkins continues to be recognized as one of the most powerful voices in Country Music.

Atkins was the second most-played male artist of the decade overall.

He has also sold over 11.4 million units and earned ten career Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum RIAA certifications to date, including his latest Gold-cerfified single, “Caught Up in The Countyr (feat. The Fisk Jubilee Singers),” which also set the record for longest-running single (at the time) in Billboard Country Airplay history at 57 weeks. Atkins has performed on NBC’s TODAY Show, GMA’s Strahan & Sara and Fox & Friends.

As an added bonus, Paul will be joined by national recording and touring artist Bret Alexander (The Badlees) for his performance! Neither Paul nor Bret are strangers to UGM, and we are thrilled to have them perform together in just a few weeks.

More from Paul DeLuca features on Underground Mi at Scranton Cultural Center

Here’s how Paul described his songwriting:
“People like to put people in boxes. Some of us refuse to stay in the confines of another person’s novel reality. That’s how I sum up my songwriting
… I wrote my first song when I was in fifth grade …
It was a pretty good Halloween tune.
Since then, I have continued to write songs. As I find my life compressed and time limited, I am sending my songs out into the world.
Last Summer I was lucky enough to have spent some time in Nashville and met some legends. I’m not saying I’m a bigger flea because I hung around bigger dogs. But, when you are sitting next to Rodney Crowell and he puts his hand on his heart and says, ‘man that song really touched my heart, good job young man,’ that’s about as high a compliment as a songwriter can get.”

“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” staged by the State Ballet Theater of Ukraine Comes to Easton’s State Theater

There are fairy tales that inspire creators to create performances in different genres and directions. One of these was the favorite fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” This time, the fairy tale will come to life in dance and be staged by the State Ballet Theater of Ukraine. Our ballet is a story about love, friendship, witchcraft, about the eternal struggle between good and evil.

The ballet “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is an excellent opportunity to spend time with the whole family. And also to introduce the child to the art of classical ballet. A unique production, an excellent plot (bright acting images, virtuoso solo parts, comical dwarfs, funny little animals), famous characters, and dynamic music will give both adults and children a festive mood.

On any given night, the band will perform a show based on a set list from the Grateful Dead’s 30 years of extensive touring or use their catalog to program a unique set list for the show. This allows fans both young and old to share in the experience. By recreating set lists from the past, and by developing their own sets of Dead songs, Dark Star Orchestra offers a continually evolving artistic outlet within this musical canon. Honoring both the band and the fans, Dark Star Orchestra’s members seek out the unique style and sound of each era while simultaneously offering their own informed improvisations.

Dark Star Orchestra offers much more than the sound of the Grateful Dead, they truly encapsulate the energy and the experience. It’s about a sense of familiarity. It’s about a feeling that grabs listeners and takes over. It’s about that contagious energy…in short, it’s about the complete experience and consistent quality show that the fan receives when attending a Dark Star Orchestra show.

Dark Star Orchestra has performed throughout the entire United States, including a sold out debut at Colorado’s Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater, plus shows in Europe and the Caribbean with the band touching down in seven different countries. DSO continues to grow its fan base by playing at larger venues for two and even three-night stands, as well as performing at major music festivals including Bonnaroo, Milwaukee’s SummerFest, The Peach Music Festival, Jam Cruise, Wanee Festival, SweetWater 420 Festival, Mountain Jam, and many more.

In addition to appearing at some of the nation’s top festival, Dark Star Orchestra hosts its own annual music festival and campaign gathering, titled the “Dark Star Jubilee”, currently in its eighth year where DSO headline all three nights and are joined by a mix of established and up and coming national touring acts. Beyond the shores of the United States, DSO has taken its internationally-acclaimed Grateful Dead tribute to the beaches of Jamaica in the dead of winter for the past six years, with their event appropriately titled ‘Jam in the Sand’. Featuring an ocean-side stage, DSO sets up camp to perform shows for four nights along the tropical sands of an all-inclusive resort, selling out the event each year for hundreds of lucky attendees.

Fans and critics haven’t been the only people caught up in the spirit of a Dark Star show. The band has featured guest performances from six original Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay, Vince Welnick, Tom Constanten and even toured with longtime Dead soundman, Dan Healy. Other notable guests have included Mike Gordon and Jon Fishman of Phish, Keller Williams, Warren Haynes, Steve Kimock, Peter Rowan, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot and many more.

“For us it’s a chance to recreate some of the magic that was created for us over the years,” keyboardist and vocalist Rob Barraco explains. “We offer a sort of a historical perspective at what it might have been like to go to a show in 1985, 1978 or whenever. Even for Deadheads who can say they’ve been to a hundred shows in the 90s, we offer something they never got to see live.”

Misfits Guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein Heads to Sherman Theater May 7

Misfits Guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein Heads to Sherman Theater May 7

Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein emerged from the fiery pits of New Jersey to bring his horror punk show to the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg on May 7.

Doyle has made his own distinct mark on the genre with the inception of his self-entitled band.  Opening the show will be Salem’s Childe, Black Dawn, Silence is Survival and Regicide.

Misfits Guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein

Misfits Guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein

The unmistakable sound of Doyle’s signature Annihilator guitar cuts through on every tune like a sonic fingerprint. The Annihilator’s tone is sharp as a butcher’s knife in the wrong hands and just as nasty – fans of the Misfits will recognize it right away.

Doyle lyrics are uncompromisingly dark and not for the faint of heart. There is absolutely zero attempt to balance the evil with any sort of good counterpoint. Music fans looking for feel-good anthems had best look elsewhere – those who enjoy strolling through the shadows will be greatly satisfied.

Vocalinst Alex Story of Cancerslug switches seamlessly from raw-throated roars to rough-edged, yet melodic, clean vocals. His live performances can only be described as unforgettable, disturbing, and strangely addictive – a perfect complement to the already mammoth stage presence of Doyle himself.

Misfits Guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein will be at Sherman Theatre

No metal band would be complete without a complete animal behind the drum kit. Brandon “The Crusher” Pertzborn of Black Flag delivers all the aggression and insanity necessary (and then some) with his exquisite musicality and showmanship.
So what can fans expect at a Doyle show?

“To get pummeled, man. And then go home and ask themselves ‘What just happened to me?!?’, hahaha…” Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein replies with a laugh that actually sounds evil. Loud, aggressive, and technically proficient, Doyle and crew are set to show the world how true horror metal sounds today.

So check out Doyle on tour, and let the beatings begin!
